Conditions of Carriage

All business undertaken subject to: RHA conditions of carriage (1988) UK transport and warehousing.

No collection or delivery schedule is guaranteed until receipt of actual booking is provided in writing (email) and then accepted and acknowledged by PCS. Any quote provided will be valid for 28 days from the date and time of emailed acknowledgement.

It is company policy that all work is paid for in advance of carriage, unless account facilities are in place or other payment terms have been agreed and accepted in writing.
Our preferred method is a Pay Pal invoice sent to your in-box which can easily be paid by debit or credit card, this method dose not cost you any additional fee, you can then print off a copy for your records and proof of the contract between your-self and PCS.

As a bona fide courier service we are insured to the kerb side only. All drivers will help with carrying the goods delivered to the inside of the house or building, but will be, to ground level only.
Drivers are forbidden to assist with carrying up or down any stairs or steps, should this ruling be broken and as a result, damage or injury is incurred to any third party or property Penwith Courier Services will not be held liable in any way.
The above contravention is in breach of our conditions of insurance as well as health & safety.

Antiques / Artwork:
No insurer will cover the Point of Sale value for Antiques/Artwork while in third party transit, except where said item or items have been valued in advance of transit and said valuation has been seen and accepted by a specialised underwriter. This kind of insurance carries a very high premium and it is therefore the responsibility of the owner/sender to make sure that they have insurance in place that will cover this risk should it be required.
As the Owner/Sender you are also responsible for the packaging of the item for carriage, and said item or items must be packaged in such a manner, that, in the unlikely event of an accident, damage can be kept to a minimum.
My insurance company understands and accepts that I carry artwork but will only pay for the reasonable cost of repair and no claim is to attach for depreciation consequent thereon.
If the subject matter insured consists of articles which form part of a pair or set our insurers will pay only for the proportionate sum insured of the article lost or damaged, without reference to any special value the damaged article may have as part of a pair or set.
In the event of a claim, evidence of value in the form of a valuation invoice may be required.
